Mr. Holmberg has field experience and an academic background in environmental economics with a focus in applied econometrics. His academic research experience is in the field of industrial organization and includes the modeling of consumer behavior for the retail grocery business and serving as a research assistant for analysis of restaurant competition in Los Angeles. He has also evaluated environmentally friendly transportation methods in the San Francisco Bay Area for a local non-profit. He has experience with discrete choice modeling, analysis of panel data and stated preference studies.

Since joining FSC in August of 2010, Mr. Holmberg has been involved in numerous projects, including sample design and bill analyses, but principally works on non-residential load impact evaluations and builds interactive Excel models. He has evaluated an agricultural pumping direct load control program and three event-based CPP-TOU pricing programs. He is currently working on load impact evaluations of event-based CPP-TOU pricing programs and mandatory TOU tariffs. Mr. Holmberg has been involved in Excel modeling projects including a T&D planning model for a large East Coast utility and a same-day AC forecasting model for one of California’s electric utilities. Recently, Mr. Holmberg built interactive Excel tools that provide a bottom-up analysis of residential and SMB customer bill and usage impacts under transition to dynamic pricing.

Mr. Holmberg holds a BA in Environmental Economics and Policy from the University of California, Berkeley where he graduated with distinction in general scholarship.
